Litter Picks in 2012 - Help Required!

Keep Stone Tidy would like to organise some Litter Picking events in 2012 and need your help!

Please contact us if you would like to volunteer or have any locations that you would like to suggest.

Rubbish Disposal

We are very grateful to all volunteers that help at an organised litter pick or those that choose to 'adopt' a specific area to keep tidy, but we would like to inform you all that once the litter has been collected, it needs to be disposed off safely.

Streetscene have requested that if you are using their green bags to collect the rubbish, that you either take the bag to a Waste Collection Centre or leave them on the Crown Street Car Park (by the toilets).

If you cannot get to either of these, then please email us and will will arrange for Streetscene to collect them.

If you are using your own bin bags, then please take it to a Waste Collection Centre or put it in your own wheelie bin.

Mission Statement

The vision of the "Keep Stone Tidy" team is to develop and promote a culture of pride in the town and community by working towards a litter free town and a pleasant environment for all to live in.

The "Keep Stone Tidy" campaign has been set up by a few local residents who care about how much litter is being dropped in Stone. They believe that it makes our town look untidy and some of the rubbish (broken glass) can be dangerous to residents, pets and wildlife.

The campaigns goal is to carry out a monthly / bi monthly litter pick of areas such as Westbridge Park, Crown Meadow, Aston Lodge, Whitebridge Manor and any other areas that would benefit.

Getting Involved

Fed up with rubbish?  Do you despair over litter?  Are you tired of moaning about the general untidiness of the town?  Would you like to be proud of Stone?  If the answer is yes, then you need to join us.

"Keep Stone Tidy" are looking for people who are willing to give up a couple of hours every so often to help litter pick.

If you are interested in becoming a 'Litter Picker' or would like to suggest an area to be cleaned, then please email the team.
